As part of the national annual event, Volunteers Week (June 1-7), the trustees of Tenby Museum and Art Gallery said a big thank you to the volunteers at the museum with a cake and tea-party.

Volunteers Week celebrates the contributions made by volunteers across the UK and is run by National Council for Voluntary Organisations, in partnership with Volunteer Development Scotland, Volunteer Now (northern Ireland) and Wales Council for Voluntary Action.

Tenby Museum, as an independent charity, relies heavily upon the on-going support of volunteers.

Honorary curator Neil Westerman said: "Volunteers play a hugely significant role in the work of the museum and they contribute to so many facets of the museum work, ranging from reception duties, cataloguing, library work, computer support, handyman skills and research, bringing a huge amount of specialist knowledge, time and dedication to their work. Without the support of the volunteers, Tenby Museum would not be able to operate and the trustees are so grateful for their invaluable assistance. We currently have a stalwart team of 20 volunteers, many of whom unfortunately could not make the celebration, but we are always on the lookout for more volunteer help. If you are interested in volunteering please do contact us."
