POLICE were recently called to a road traffic collision on the B3266, near Camelford, having received multiple calls regarding a car on its roof.

On Tuesday, January 3, police were called to the collision, a couple of miles out of Camelford, at approximately 12.25pm. The incident had occurred near to the turning to Helsbury Quarry.

On arrival, police found a black Peugeot 207 on its roof in a field. The occupants, in their 70s, were assisted by a member of the public, who had stopped and was also an off duty nurse.

The pair had escaped uninjured, but were still treated for shock by paramedics, who were called to the scene.

The local farmer was traced by police, and he was able to assist in the recovery of the vehicle by moving it out of the field into a layby nearby, using a telehandler.

The Peugeot was travelling towards Bodmin from Camelford when it was in collision with a blue Suzuki.

There was minimal damage to the Suzuki, and the driver — who was 90-years-old — was uninjured too. Police from Bodmin and Camelford attended the scene.
