A Post Office 'lifeline' has been secured until 2022 due to a Government contract.
The deal, unveiled by Liberal Democrat Pensions Minister Steve Webb, guarantees the future of the Post Office Card Account system until 2022.
The account allows people without a bank account to receive benefits and tax credits.
North Cornwall Liberal Democrat MP Dan Rogerson said: "This is fantastic news for the local post offices in North Cornwall.
"I know how vital local post offices are, especially for elderly and vulnerable people who can't make it to a bank branch to access their pensions, benefits or tax credits."
