THE MP for North Cornwall, who is the minister responsible for helping to organise flood relief, has hit back at a claim in a national newspaper that he is 'the invisible minister'.
Dan Rogerson said working to help those affected by floods was more important than focussing on his own profile.
An article in the Sunday Mirror stated a 'cabinet source' as saying that 'when it comes to floods, Dan is the invisible man and the invisible minister' and suggested Mr Rogerson 'was being kept away from national TV and radio interviews'.
The alleged source also claimed Mr Rogerson was 'not up to the job of handling a major crisis'.
Mr Rogerson told the Post he had been getting on with his job, managing a response to the floods.
He said: "Since being appointed as Minister I have spent the last few months, including over Christmas and New Year, dealing with the response to the unprecedented flooding that many parts of the country have experienced."
