THERE was plenty of entertainment at Bude Central Methodist Church on Saturday, July 6 in order to raise money for the Robert Johns Leukaemia Fund.

The event attracted around 140 people, who were able to listen to the Mousehole Male Voice Choir.

Bob Johns founded the charity in memory of his son, Robert William Johns who sadly lost his life to leukaemia in 1983.

Ever since, Bob has been organising various fundraisers to provide funding for research into the disease as well as support for people living with it.

Bob wanted to thank everyone that came and showed their support for this event.

He said: “Thank you to everyone that came along. I would really like to thank the ladies that did the tea on the day and the performers that turned up without expecting any payment.

“The event was a complete success with many people commenting on how well it went afterwards.”

The Mousehole Male Voice Choir was also supported by the Bencoolen Wreckers. A total of £831 was raised.
