MONTHS of piecing together coloured material fragments have paid off with a magnificent mosaic depicting the history of a market town. Members of Holsworthy Family Workshop Resource Centre came up with the idea to create a visual landmark for the town to boost its profile. The former windmill, canal system and labryinth are all featurewas made possible thanks to a grant from Heritage Lottery. Pieces of pottery and ceramic were donated following an appeal, including an old smoking pipe dug from a garden in Holsworthy. Throughout the year people have been working on the mosaic, with the final touches added recently. Sally Fulcher, one of the volunteers working on it, said: "Conversations with town and Torridge councillors happen on a regular basis with local needs discussed." For the full report, and a round up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
