A BIG breakfast was held on Saturday, January 26, in Pyworthy Village Hall to raise funds for two causes very close to the hearts of a family.
Ange Martin together with her sisters Teresa, Lucille and sister-in-law Caroline and their families hosted a big breakfast at Pyworthy Village Hall to raise much needed funds for Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (Sands) and North Devon District Hospital (NDDH) intensive care unit.
In recent years Ange’s brother, Phil Cann, received life saving care at NDDH and in September her niece, Emily Aswin, and husband, Josh, had immense support from Sands when sadly their daughter Lily was born sleeping. Josh has subsequently taken on the challenge of running the London Marathon in aid of Sands and in memory of Lily.
The whole family wanted to do something to support him and also thank NDDH for taking such great care of Phil.
A family spokesperson said: “The family would like to say a huge thank you to Joy Renshaw Eggs, Sue at Tywardreath Butchers, Waitrose and Morrisons for donating produce for the breakfast and also the many people who gave raffle prizes and cakes and everyone who helped on the day.”
The family was delighted by the fantastic support they received resulting in a grand total of £1,570 being raised.
