DESPITE a wet and windy summer, this year’s Launcells 50th anniversary horticultural show was well attended — with more than 500 exhibits and seven more entrants compared to last year.
As there was a ‘golden anniversary’ theme this year there were classes for yellow vegetables, flowers plus golden anniversary cards.
Thanks were expressed to everyone who exhibited, helped on the day or donated a raffle prize.
Thanks were also expressed to the judges who seemed to enjoy spending their morning at the show. A number of judges were heard to say ‘see you next year’, which is a good indication that they enjoyed taking part, and one judge, who judges shows throughout North Cornwall, said the Launcells horticultural show ‘stood out from all the rest for its high standard of entries’.
Final thanks were expressed to everyone who spent the afternoon viewing all the exhibits, congratulating winners as they received their trophies, buying raffle tickets and purchasing items in the auction.
