DELABOLE Hospital Car Service organiser Patricia Hicks is calling on residents of the area to come forward and ease the strain put on those few who drove so often over the festive period.
With a lack of drivers over the last year, more expectation has been put on those few that have to carry out regular trips to places such as Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, amongst other locations.
Patricia said: "It is awfully difficult to get to Truro and Plymouth, as there are no direct bus routes. We have a great local service, but to go to these hospitals means getting buses to St Columb, or Wadebridge and changing over, which can take a very long time and make early appointments terribly difficult to attend."
