OVER 30 people have signed up to Camelford’s new skatepark, with much more on the horizon for the OCM Skatepark Club.

On Friday, September 28, OCM Skatepark welcomed over 30 young people and parents to the site, where they were able to sign up to the club as members. Club chairperson, Ayla Johnson, said: “OCM Skatepark management would like to say a massive thank you to all who have signed up over the weekend. We had an amazing evening on Friday with over 30 children and parents signing up and many more taking forms home for parents to sign.”

The club even held an extra sign up day on Sunday for those that couldn’t attend Friday evening and now have around 50 new members.

Ayla continued: “We spent two hours chatting to parents and children about what they want to see happen and letting them ask us what is involved in the club. We explained to everyone how we are signing up with Skateboard England and that we are also going to be taking a day trip to Mount Hawkede to get the partnership started with our coaching sessions.

“We will be making our first debut in Camelford Carnival this October, showing the town just what we are. Watch this space for more incredible things to come from our club.

“A quick thank you to all the funders, town council and town trust for making our dreams come true.”
