LAUNCESTON man Michael Doble took part in a charity football match in London recently to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young.

The event, in memory of Jenny Kerwood , the sister of Michael's friend, who suddenly died from a heart condition while playing football, raised almost £1,770.

Michael said: "Despite the snow and rain which had befallen the country during much of March, the event was still able to go ahead. On the day, the pitch had become unplayable, luckily for us Forrest Green School allowed us to use their indoor pitch, which meant that the players were still able to play some football."
