MOLE Valley Farmers’ moleenergy department has been busy in the past couple of months, installing two photovoltaic (PV) projects in Holsworthy.

The first was the installation of REC panels at North Devon Hospice’s new Long House outreach centre.

The Long House will provide both care and support and a base for a hospice consultant and community nurses, reducing travelling times and permitting more direct patient contact. It will also offer one-to-one counselling, complementary therapy and a venue for support groups.

Sharon Ford, assistant business manager with moleenergy, said: “The Long House is a lovely building with a very relaxed and calm feel about it. Mole Valley Farmers has been a long term supporter of the North Devon Hospice and so were honoured to help this new and much needed centre by both providing and installing the PV system. This will significantly reduce running costs and give the hospice a quarterly feed-in tariff cheque to support financing their great work.”

The second project was the installation of a 30kW array, consisting of 120 x 250W panels on the east/west roof of the storage unit at the new Mole Valley Farmers £1-million Holsworthy store at Underlane.

The system will generate around 27,000kWh per annum, saving the store around £2,000 per year on their electricity bill, while the feed-in tariff should be around £3,500 a year. Therefore the business should receive a total annual benefit of approximately £5,500.
