THERE was a colourful display on the gates of Milton Damerel Chapel as locals were invited to add their own flower to the village’s living cross.

Volunteer children’s worker at the chapel Sheila Daniels said: “It is a symbol of Easter and of Easter hope and new life springing.

“This is something that has been happening for years. They have a plain cross and during the Easter service people are invited up to the front to add there flower. Well, of course, with COVID we aren’t having indoor services so we decided to bring it to life outside where everyone could safely access it.”

She added: “I think it will cheer people up, and people could do with something cheerful right now!”
