FOLLOWING their sell-out performance last year, Plymouth Military Wives Choir asked if they could again perform in Launceston, as they were so taken with the venue of the town hall and the enthusiasm of the audience.
So the Lions Club of Launceston has organised another Evening of Song on Saturday, April 18, this time accompanied by the Boscastle Buoys.
Gareth Malone managed to persuade more than a 100 women from military bases in Plymouth and Chivenor in 2011 to join a choir for the BBC2 television series The Choir: The Military Wives.
They were coached through public performances across the country, before singing to the Queen and other members of the Royal family during a Remembrance Day concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
Their most famous song, 'Wherever you are', was composed by Paul Mealor, a Royal composer. It is a heartfelt tribute from the wives and girlfriends whose partners were away on a six-month tour of Afghanistan.
