THE children at St Breward celebrated the first birthday of Messy Church with a party at the village hall on Friday, August 5.

Lots of fun was had by everybody with party games and the painting of a special mural to celebrate the day and this is now in the church for all visitors to see.

A sunny afternoon enabled the party tea to be eaten outside with a cake made by a parishioner especially for the day.

It all ended with a prayer said by Canon Sherry Bryan and the children then said their own prayers as they blew bubbles to take the prayers up into the sky.

St Breward Messy Church takes place on the first Friday of every month at 3.30pm to 5.30pm in the village hall and is open to all children as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Food is included and Messy Church is free, although donations are welcome to help with costs. Come along and have some fun.
