A WELL supported charity ball held at Holsworthy Memorial Hall recently has raised almost £2,000 for Bone Cancer Research Trust.
Dan Atkins organised the ball as part of his fundraising for his spot on the charity's marathon team next April. He needs to raise £3,000.
Dan said: "The reason behind the charity and the reason for running the marathon, is because my best friend died at the age of 21 two years ago to a form of bone cancer called Ewings Sarcoma.
"He was the bravest and strongest person I have ever met, and this run is to honour him, raise money for critical research and support his amazing family."
