ONE hundred years ago to the day, on April 14, when the great Titanic collided with an iceberg, Steve Cameron's musical the Titanic Suite was performed at Werrington Church.

The audience was taken on a journey that, portrayed in music and narration, a story that has and will continue to fascinate and disturb in equal measure.

Members experienced the pre-launch hype and fascination with this huge ship, the departure from Southampton on to its maiden voyage, the thrill, the gaiety, the extravagance and the indulgence of that great lady of the sea. As Steve's music took them, willingly to its sad and well documented end, he portrayed all that Edwardian England had to offer.

This self penned composition from Steve Cameron playing electric pianos and keyboard synthesiser, was performed by a real master of his art. A person that is comfortable with both his instrument and his music. Captivating his audience with both the skill of the performance and pure passion and conviction with which a story was being told. Andrew Dinner played guitar and filling the church with Steve's haunting lyrics along with Peter Haywood on bass, helped to give the band a most generous sound that really could have been from a much larger ensemble.
