Do you live in North Cornwall? Do you face personal health problems or disabilities, or are challenged by the needs of a loved one for whom you care? Do you wish there was a local support-group for people like yourself?

On December 8, between 11am and 4.30pm, Bude's newly extended and refurbished Tourist Information Centre will house a Christmas meet-and-greet with representatives from local support groups.

This event will be very informal and will be an ideal opportunity for people to see what help and moral support the local community can offer now, and to help guide what provisions it should offer in the future. Free hot drinks and mince pies will be available, and they will also be leading short guided walks along the Bude Canal during the day.

There will be leaflets and information to take away from a range of sources and an up-to-date contact list for support groups in the area. There will also be information on the grants and guidance available for those who wish to start-up their own new group.

So if you are interested, contact Clare Manning on 01288 357302 or Amanda Thornton 07824 417555 for further information, or simply drop-in and see them on the day.

This event is being organised on behalf of the Bude Canal Regeneration Project, and the NHS Health Promotion Service, and is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
