THERE were congratulations for 37 years of twinning friendship was by Bude-Stratton’s mayor at the full council meeting last night (Thurday, March 3).

Cllr Lea Deely spoke of her recent visit to the Bude-Stratton Twinning Association’s fundraising quiz. She said: “I would like to thank those involved in keeping the twinning tradition alive. This year a party from Ergue-Gaberic will be coming to Bude and the funds raised will go towards the expenses incurred in hosting the event.”

The twinning between Bude-Stratton and the town of Ergue-Gaberic in Brittany was established by charter in 1979.

Bude-Stratton Twinning Association meets on the first Friday of each month from 3.30pm to 4.30pm at Waves, Lansdown Road, and anyone is welcome to come along.
