THE Oakhanger May fayre drew people from near and far on Monday.

Oakhanger Village Hall Committee organises the annual event, which raised £1,800 for the upkeep of the hall.

Proceedings began with the crowning of the May Queen, Rebecca Shadey, 14, by outgoing Queen Megan Trantham.

This was followed by maypole dancing, which saw 16 children wear white dresses and coloured sashes for the first time.
