FOUR schools from the Andaras Academy Trust — Windmill Hill, North Petherwin, Werrington and St Stephens — joined together to participate in an amazing Maths Challenge Day at St Stephens Community Academy.

Daniel Simons, from the Cornwall and Devon Maths Hub, enthused the pupils in their learning of maths through a range of games and challenges.

The challenges included making an origami Jackson Cube, calculating the code to open the treasure chest and trying to find out the sequence required to perform a maths card trick.

Class 6 pupils at St Stephens Community Academy said: “It was a great day — learning maths and spending time with children from the other schools,” and: “Today was the most fantastic maths we have done.”
