A MAN from Launceston has highlighted the importance of fundraising for a well known cancer charity.

Steven Diamond, from Launceston, could be spotted around town collecting for Marie Curie on Wednesday, February 27, a charity that is close to his heart.

Steven, who has been raising money for the cancer charity for approximately three years, only knows too well the effects of cancer. He said: “I had cancer as a child, so I know how much equipment costs.

“I started volunteering with Marie Curie as it appeared on social media, and I have been doing it ever since!”

Steven says he has received a warm reception from most people in Launceston while he fundraises, although still believes some people should be more aware of the importance of fundraising for such charities, in order to provide care to those who need it, along with staff training and vital equipment.
