A RNLI lifeguard teamed up with Bude lifeboat volunteers last Thursday (July 18) to assist an injured swimmer in the Summer­leaze sea pool. Working together, they provided urgent casualty care to the man before para­medics arrived.

RNLI lifeguard Dan Gow was just locking up the hut at around 6.15pm when a member of the public alerted him to an injured man in the sea pool.

Dan raced to the scene and found the man, who is believed to be from Bude, in the water suffering from neck pain and a sore shoulder having dived in to the pool.
