BUDE Lifeboat was launched just after 3pm on Sunday after being called to Hawker's Hut at Morwenstow to search the bottom of the cliffs following the report of a fall. Bude Coastguard also attended.

The body of a man was subsequently recovered and airlifted to North Devon District Hospital. Barnstaple, by the RAF Chivenor Air Sea Rescue helicopter.
Police were also called to the scene after being contacted by a member of the public.
A police spokesman confirmed the death of a 47-year-old local man. He had not been named as the 'Post' went to press. Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
