DETECTIVES investigating what they described as a serious assault in Newton Abbot have released CCTV images of three men they want to speak with in connection with the incident.

A 46-year-old man suffered head and facial injuries as a result of what is believed to be an unprovoked attack in Sherborne Road on Saturday April 4 at approximately 9.10pm.

The victim was allegedly hit in the face by a group of men and fell to the floor near the taxi rank between Courtenay Street and Sherborne Road.

He was taken by ambulance to Derriford Hospital where he received treatment before being discharged a few days later.
