THE charity cream tea held at Pencarey, St Teath, on Sunday, September 9, was a great success.

The magnificent sum of £1,245, including some generous donations, was raised for the Merlin MS Centre.

Thanks were expressed to the visitors for their support, the many stall holders, the tea ladies and waitresses, not forgetting all the help received setting up the event.

The event wouldn’t have been possible without Yvonne and Alan Tew, who provided the use of their lovely garden at Pencarey.

Visitors were able to wander around the garden at their leisure in the warm September sunshine. An added attraction was a model railway steam train ride enjoyed by children and adults.

A spokesperson for the event said: “It was very rewarding to see so many people enjoying the afternoon while helping us to raise funds for the Merlin MS Centre. David and Lorraine wish to thank everyone for their continued support.”
