THE poppy wave for Camelford was installed in the newly roofed bandstand on Friday, November 9, in time for Remembrance.

Kirsty Ferguson, her mother Shirley Goodman and Ann Grundy, with the invaluable assistance of John Gilbert, Enfield Park maintenance manager, hung the poppy net from the roof and then began to pull the net to the sides to enable the wave effect.

Kirsty, former secretary of the RBL and mayor of Camelford, said: “Thankfully the installation went to plan despite a few heavy gusts of wind. The town council have been kind enough to allow the lights of the bandstand to remain red during the Remembrance period, which at night, has truly added to the effect.

“I have been blown away by the amazing comments and thank everyone who took the time to make the poppies for me.”
