Sixty friends came together last Friday night at the Wiseman's Bridge Inn to enjoy a wonderful evening of food and quizzing.

The buffet supper was, as usual, of exceptionally high quality, with whole salmon, and the thickest juiciest ham, accompanied by a range of salads and desserts. Sincere thanks to the Wiseman's Bridge staff team.

Thanks, too, from the committee, go to Mary Thomas, their highly valued quizmaster for all her effort and hard work, pulling the quiz together. Mary does a great job. Not just at this quiz, but every fortnight throughout the 'off' season with her quizzes to raise money for local charities.

Also, to those who supported the event, thanks again for your generosity.

The quiz itself produced an an exciting finish, with a draw for first place. After a 'tie' question: How many islands and inlets does the UK coastline have? the Ludchurch Lunatics just pipped Over the Cliff by being closest with their answer.

Having some fun, good company and plenty of high quality food makes for an excellent evening, the highlight being money raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. Thank you.
