A SPECIAL presentation was made by South Petherwin Methodist chapel secretary Mary Stoneman, assisted by Linda Salt during the lunch club held on September 24.

The occasion was a celebration of the club, which has now been running for 19 years, and to recognise all the hard work and commitment put in by Wendy and Tony Smith and Joan Whale.

The lunch club was instigated by Wendy and Tony in September 1999. Joan Whale has been on board also since the inception and together with the other loyal and committed helpers down through the years, this has made for a very successful, ongoing and well-supported community event.

It was also good to have Sylvia Stenlake back for this occasion. Sylvia has been a dedicated lunch club member since the first meeting on September 27, 1999.
