LAST week my dog, Fox went missing off the cliffs in Morwenstow (the 'Post', February 26). He was eventually rescued by an RSPCA team who I was able to thank personally.
I had first called the Coastguard, and a crew from Hartland very quickly arrived (before they'd even had time for breakfast) who I met, and also, I understand, a crew from Bude who unfortunately I didn't meet.
They found Fox on the beach but he made it quite clear to them that he didn't want to
rescued. So it was they who called the RSPCA and luckily it was a happy ending and he is now safe and sound.
I would like to say thank you so much to the Coastguard crews, if it hadn't been for them Fox would probably not have survived. Also to Monica Andrew and Kevin Heywood who gave us all easy access across their farm at Cornakey.
Thank goodness there are brave folk prepared to turn out and do the dangerous stuff when it all goes wrong for the rest of us. So thank you very, very much to everyone who came to help, it is much appreciated.
Morwenstow.
