AFTER a lengthy process of applying for funding, Otterham and St Juliot Hall, Marshgate, has received very welcome news from The Big Lottery.

The Big Lottery Reaching Communities Buildings Programme will be giving the hall a development grant of £33,735.

This Development Grant is the first part in the final stage 3 application process and will enable the hall committee to get all the preliminary works in place.

Val Gill, hall secretary said: "There is still much work to be done in order to submit the full stage three application to The Big Lottery where the application will go before an assessment board and with luck, the committee very much hopes to be awarded the full grant to replace our dilapidated old hall."
