THERE has been a lot for Launceston Young Farmers’ Club to celebrate of late.

This year’s annual dinner and dance was held at Widemouth Manor Hotel on Friday, September 21, a chance for members, parents and friends to reflect on what a fantastic 12 months Launceston YFC has had.

Launceston YFC’s AGM this year brought them back to the Eagle House Hotel, on Thursday, October 4, with outgoing chairman and secretary Nathanael Thomas and Emily Brookham reporting on the truly fantastic year they have had!

It really was great to hear of all their success including a 2nd at the national final for disco dancing, the cookery team qualifying for the national final and Emily Brookham and Liberty Scott competing in the National Floral Art Finals.

Not forgetting the Tug of War teams who have had a sensational year with the men’s team reaching the national final, and coming runners up in the Far Western Area league, and the ladies reaching the south west area round for the first time in many years.

The reins have now been handed over and Alex Cornish takes on as club chairman with Kerry Wadge as his secretary — another great year is in store for the club!
