THE 470-year-old Gildhouse in the quiet North Cornwall parish of Poundstock was being honoured by a visit from the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, Col Edward Bolitho, and several European dignitaries yesterday (Wednesday), after the 'Post' went to press.

The Lord Lieutenant was unveiling the plaque commemorating the 2012 Europa Nostra Conservation Award, won by the Gildhouse against stiff opposition from the whole of Europe.
