THE Bude Cleaner Seas Project held its third successful beach clean at Summerleaze on Sunday, September 21, and extended a big thank you to all those who took part. Volunteer cleaners came from Spain (not just for the beach clean!), Okehampton, Camelford and Launceston. There was not a great deal of litter on the beach due to the slight sea swells of late and the cleaning of the beach by contractors, which continued in September. But plenty of fishing net, cigarette butts, plastics, broken glass and a heavy breeze block wrapped in fishing net were collected — with gratitude going to Bude RNLI for hauling the block all the way up the beach on their trailer.
