IT was the longest day and rail trip for a former Teignmouth clergyman and his daughter.
They travelled on the longest rail journey in the UK – Aberdeen to Penzance – in aid of a charity and raised at least £4,200 from sponsors.
The Rev Preb Graham Stones, who recently retired as rector of Teignmouth, and daughter Debbie Grierson covered the 770 miles in 13hrs 23mins, and arrived bang on schedule.
