Pembrokeshire residents are being called on to vote for Giddy Aunt in Narberth, which is up for UK Vintage Shop of The Year in this year's National Vintage Awards.

Taking place in Cheltenham on Wednesday, July 15, the national awards ceremony was launched three years ago to celebrate, showcase and reward the independent businesses who are inspired by the past and responsible for growing the vintage industry in the UK.

"I'm delighted to be up for this award," sayid Donna Hole, owner of Giddy Aunt. "I've worked so hard to build up my business and to have national recognition would be amazing. I'd love for everyone in Pembrokeshire to vote!"

Giddy Aunt is a small boutique vintage shop which sells true vintage up to the 1980s, with mid 20th century their speciality. They also have their own range of handmade retro clothes.

Donna, AKA Aunty Donna, added: "I have always loved and worn vintage! Since my days as an art student in the 1980s, vintage, especially the '50s, has been my style of choice. I've always been fascinated with the cut and styling of vintage fabric and love the social history attached to vintage clothes, every item tells a tale (or two!)."

The majority of Giddy Aunt's customers are local to Pembrokeshire and the surrounding counties, as well as many returning customers who make a visit to Giddy Aunt an important part of their holiday to Pembrokeshire.

Giddy Aunt has continued to grow over the years, with a new men's wear department 'Bob's Yer Uncle' downstairs and a successful Kickstarter campaign to update the website and run a professional photoshoot. Recently Giddy Aunt has also been successful with a Local Investment Fund Grant and a lottery loan from Pembrokeshire Lottery for IT and studio equipment, allowing Giddy Aunt to grow and develop.

Voting takes place online at http://www.thenationalvintageawards.co.uk">www.thenationalvintageawards.co.uk throughout May and to vote for Giddy Aunt you should go to the UK Vintage Shop of The Year page.
