THE Launceston Community Transport Partnership is pleased to announce that the Little Red Bus will continue to serve the community.

A new board of directors/trustees and volunteer transport co-ordinator have been appointed to develop a sustainable strategy for LCTP together with its team of dedicated volunteers and drivers, to whom the board said it is very grateful.

A programme for the next three months has been published and fliers distributed and the boards hopes that the community will support the service as they have done so in the past.

Trustee Andy Lyle, who hopes it will move forward with the new volunteer transport co-ordinator appointed, said: “We need the support of the people of Launceston and outlying areas — we have got to work together to make it work. It’s a very important service.”

John Ellison, honorary secretary, said: “We would like to thank the community who have expressed their support for the service and encouraged us to find a solution. We would like to thank Launceston Town Council for their support during this difficult time.”

Speaking about the Little Red Bus at September’s Launceston Town Council meeting, mayor Margaret Young said: “We just hope it survives and prospers.”
