THE Little Acorns fete, fundraising for the nursery’s new outdoor play area at its site in Camelford, was a great success, raising a total of £400.
The event, which took place on September 17, saw parents, children, staff and members of the community gather at the nursery for a day of fun activities and to see how their money and donations had been spent during the summer holidays to revamp the children’s outdoor play area.
Although Little Acorns often hold a fete each year, this fete was special.
Manager, Kerry Corner, told the Post: “This was specifically to show parents and members of the community what we’ve achieved through the summer holidays, what their money goes towards and how it is going to benefit the children and their learning. It’s a huge achievement for us.”
As well as the classic ‘hook-a-duck’ and a delicious barbecue, children and guests were able to take part in a treasure hunt for sweets, guessing the weight of a squash, a tombola, and various stalls.
Kerry added: “We’d just like to say thank you to everyone for supporting us and helping us raise so much.”
