A PAIR of ducklings were rescued from a grate in Boscastle on Friday, thanks to some locals with a handy #2minutebeachclean litter picker.
Sean Melor from the National Trust visitor centre in Boscastle was asked by Judith from the Witchcraft Museum nearby to assist when he noticed she, along with two holidaymakers, were trying to pry open a grate with a crow bar. With the move being unsuccessful, Judith suggested using a #2minutebeachclean litter picker.
Sean said: “It became a real life game of hook-a-duck! The first one was easy, but the second one was a wriggler and took a little longer.”
After managing to rescue the two ducklings, Sean, Judith and the holidaymakers carried them back along the river to an awaiting mother and four other ducklings, popping them back into the water.
