PLASTIC Free Camelford (pictured above) got into the community spirit at the spring fayre last Saturday, as they presented their ideas to the public and hosted a successful litter pick.

It was the first time the group had put on a display since coming together recently, but were very pleased with the response. Deputy mayor of Camelford and a team member of the Plastic Free Camelford group, Claire Hewlett, who was at the spring fayre, said: “Lots of people are just beginning the plastic free journey, so it was good to be able to highlight some alternatives to plastic usage. One of the most popular things was a ‘cutlery roll’ — a set of wooden cutlery in a canvas roll, which you could just pop in your bag until you needed it, enabling you to refuse plastic cutlery whilst out and about.

“The litter pick was well supported. We litter picked the park and the entrance to the park and outside the shops, and we’re hoping to have another litter pick on June 30.”
