CORNWALL Councillor for Launceston Central, Alex Folkes, recently joined residents of Kensey Valley Meadow in Launceston for a litter pick of their estate. It was organised by the residents' association led by John Belsey and Mike and Caroline Childs. There were eleven litter pickers out and in an hour and a half the group collected four black bags full of rubbish. The equipment — grabbers, gloves and fluorescent jackets — were kindly lent by the Cornwall Council's waste team. Cllr Folkes extended his thanks to all who helped and to the council. The litter picking equipment is available to loan to residents in other areas, so if anyone is keep to help clear up their area, please contact Cllr Folkes on 07984 644138.
