CAMELFORD'S Sir James Smith's Community School's Modern Languages Department was delighted recently to receive a visit from two 'link' students from Bristol University.

The visit coincided with European Day of Languages and was designed to give Sir Jim's students of French and German an insight into the benefits of studying a modern foreign language at school and beyond.

Rachel Farmer and Amber Bartlett are both studying French and German at degree level at university and — as part of Bristol University/Sir Jim's 'Adopt a Student' scheme — had been keeping in touch with the school's students during their year abroad, via regular emails, postcards and even video diaries.
