LIFTON, last season's Devon Senior Cup losing finalists, have withdrawn from the East Cornwall Premier League and decided to return to youth football.

Their manager last season, Tony Rowles, has taken charge of Launceston second team who finished third in the Premier League and won the League Cup.

There is also a new manager at Morwenstow with Alan Hockin taking over from Kingsley Bryant who has become chairman.

Morwenstow will have a genuine Premier Division local derby this season as Bude Town gained promotion and their manager Adrian Warburton will have to overcome the loss of star striker Billy Hopcroft.

In Division One there is no change of management at Holsworthy, but Phil Brown has taken over from Paul Hicks at Camelford.

Callington boss Steve Blatchford has been rebuilding his side as several of last season's squad have joined St Dominick under new manager Paul Blatchford.

The opening fixtures this Saturday include:

Premier: Bude Town v Biscovey; Morwenstow v Liskeard; Plymouth Parkway v Tavistock; Probus v Launceston.

Division One: Camelford v St Blazey; Elburton Villa v Callington; Holsworthy v Edgcumbe.

The Bodmin Trophies Duchy League also kicks off on Saturday with ten fixtures including Southgate v North Petherwin.
