Carol Clark and Kevin and Lavinia Marshall of Lifton completed the Flora London Marathon on Sunday, April 26. Kevin finished the 26.2 mile course in an impressive three hours and five minutes, his best London Marathon time. Carol and Lavinia ran together and crossed the finish line after six hours and 43 minutes. It was Lavinia's first marathon and she thoroughly enjoyed the experience: "I had an absolute ball of a time. The atmosphere was wonderful." Unfortunately, however, Carol was not very well. Lavinia said: "She was really suffering but we got there and that was the most important thing and we had a wonderful time. We had Mr Incredible running with the two of us and he was encouraging us and supporting us the whole way." Having enjoyed her first marathon experience so much, Lavinia is considering taking part again. Carol raised in excess of £500 for the Langley Trust and Kevin and Lavinia have so far raised £1,500, with sponsorship still being collected, for the Lifton Social and Community Centre.
