Owner Robert Fleming, who co-owns Lifton Hall Hotel with Richard Elworthy, previously told the Post: “Over the last ten years we have had a very good following for our Sunday lunches. I am very proud of our facilities; we have a very cosy atmosphere and the dining room is great for bigger groups or functions.
“To get in the top three you had to be nominated. Since then it has been a case of mobilising the troops to gain votes.”
Their efforts have proven fruitful, as they have been named Devon Life’s best Devon Sunday lunch provider.
After the announcement of the awards Messrs Fleming and Elworthy said: “We’d like to thank all our great staff who helped to make this possible. And a big thank you to everyone who voted for us.”
Robert added: “We’ve already seen an increase in bookings — so if you fancy popping along next Sunday — be sure to book!”
