The space gives young children a safe and engaging environment to explore and develop, featuring trikes, water play, and a range of other equipment designed to encourage active learning, coordination, and imaginative play.
Staff at the school say the new play area encourages physical activity, teamwork, and confidence among the youngest pupils, while complementing the school’s wider Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
The EYFS at Lifton is designed to support children’s development and learning. Pupils enjoy a variety of activities, both indoors and outdoors, including play, creative arts, and music. The school is proud to offer high-quality provision that helps children build confidence, social skills, and a love of learning from the very start.
It compliments the academy’s aims to deliver on a commitment to exceptional education across its 18 schools.
Adam Hill, headteacher at Lifton Community Academy, said: “It’s been a joy to see our youngest pupils enjoying their new outdoor play area. Now spring has arrived, it’s been really rewarding to watch them making the most of the new equipment, building skills and confidence out in the sun together.”
Tracey Cleverly, chief executive officer of Learning Academy Partnership, added: “Outdoor play is such an important part of early learning, so we’re delighted to see Lifton Community Academy’s pupils enjoying their new play area. Being part of the Learning Academy Partnership means schools can work together to provide resources and opportunities that help children grow, play, and learn in a safe, engaging environment.”
