TWO people cut off by the tide at Crackington Haven were assisted by Bude Lifeboat on Sunday, June 5.
The lifeboat was paged at 4.11pm and the lifeboat and rescue water craft were both launched at 4.25pm.
The lifeboat was helmed by Mike Tame with crew Steve Carter and Charlie Green. Jeremy Brown and Gavin Goatcher were on the rescue water craft.
The crew located the two casualties who were worried but not injured. Thet were then transferred to the lifeboat and returned safely to the beach at Crackington Haven.
The shout was raised by two surfers who had noticed the two people in difficult.
The station’s rescue water craft also went to check a second report of two further people cut off to the north of Crackington. However, no-one was sighted.
A spokesperson for Bude Lifeboat wrote on the lifeboat Facebook page: “The casualties were very grateful to the crew and happy to be back on dry land.
“The crew would like to remind people walking along this stretch of coastline to check the tides and always be aware of how quickly it does come in.”
