CAMELFORD Town Council will be taking on the town’s library in the early months of 2018, a meeting heard last Thursday.

Clerk to the council, Esther Grieg, reported to her peers that the process of taking on the town library is moving swiftly.

She said: “I had a library meeting recently, and we’ve got some dates.”

The council will be taking over the lease of the library from Cornwall Council on March 1, 2018, and will then be taking over the service on April 2 or 3.

Necessary refurbishments will be carried out in March before the council takes on the library service.
