THE mayor of Launceston met with employees of the town’s library recently to reassure them of their continued employment.
Mayor, Cllr Margaret Young, and clerk of the town council, Christopher Drake, reassured library staff that their jobs would be safe and that they would be employees of the town council when the transition of the library is made.
Launceston Town Council hopes to take over the running of the library from Cornwall Council in the near future.
