THE Lib Dems gained a clean sweep of the three Launceston seats and two Bude area ones up for grabs on Cornwall Council in the local elections on Thursday, writes Keith Whitford, the editor.
At Poundstock, Lib Dem Nicky Chopak (487) defeated Andrew vernon Ades (Conservative) who polled 449 votes.
Longstanding councillor John Lugg won St Teath and St Breward with 628 from Eddie Jones (Lib Dem) on 388 and Henry Hines (Conservative) on 204.
At Tintagel, Glenton Bruce Brown (Lib Dem) on 664 defeated Susan Jane Bowen (UKIP) with 313 in a three-cornered fight.
